sp-202 delay

Post by korakios »

Since I am looking for a cheap sp,does the 202 delay act like a tape delay?I mean if you change the delay time does the delayed sound get pitched?!

no, from what i remember.
(ps
personally i think that the delay on the sp202 is one of the worst ever conceived, but i say it with very very low voice, i hope they don't hear me... :) ; great filters indeed)

I agree with Ella. The delay on the 202 is nowhere near as complete or effective as the delay on the 303 or 404.

+1. and it only worx on (i FINK) mono samples on the A/B banks. i don't fink you can add delay to banks C/D (or maybe it only worx on mono samples on C/D, but stereo on A/B? can't remember, but it IS limited).

but yeah, the filters are great.

Banks C/D are the more difficult pads to work with as they are the memory card which is best used for sample storage. Can't really do much here and use of effects on bank C/D are limited to one effect, if memory serves me correct.

I bump this old thread.

I use rarely the 202 delay because I never knew how it works (I push radomly the button and turn the knobs samely).

Someone know how to master that 202 DELAY NINJA ??!

there`s nothing to master, they had nothing else to put there and they thought a button labled "delay" would fit nice.

The delay on the 202 rocks. It's limited( no feedback, 50% wet) but it's like lowering the timestretch completely, you use it as it is and it can be cool. I like shitty effects when pushed to the extreme.

Yo guys, i just found an interesting trick about this effect! If you hit delay and then push up or down buttons (at the right of the screen) your bpm changes and with doubling values delay speed too goes x2 faster or slower

NIIIIIIIIIIIICE, Langusta!

I'm planning on only using the 202 for drums, so a nice little trashy delay that I can bring in as a doubling effect now and again sounds ace. Every effect is uable in some way.

Ring mod’s great for mangling drum samples for hard house and the like. I can even imagine using the zipper effect as you twist the knob for something. Way more useful so far than the delay.
