Thanks, everyone, I have been working on tweaking this design and its at version 3 now - I am in the process of test printing and seeing how it translates into an actual product.

Due to trying to keep the costs down It may not be metal but maybe polycarbonate laser cut. or a cheaper alternative is a hard plastic based material.

The new concept is making the faceplate (text and lettering only on a clear type plastic perspex. This way if you have used stickers all over your SP or sprayed it you can keep that look and just remove the top 4 screws and place the text based plastic faceplate on top and screw down to also protect that and be able to read all the functions. A separate retro colour layer would also be included that you could put down first if you wanted the retro look. But I'm still experimenting with this.

I am happy to hear your ideas - kind of feel like this is starting to be a bit of a kickstarter type thing, although I have never used kickstarter so i wouldn't know where to start.

At this stage I just want to first get a prototype that I can post a picture of here and get more feedback - I am aiming to have this done in the next 2 months.

Thanks scopebeats! I have gone through numerous printers who couldn't achieve this and now I have finally found someone who can help, its turning out to be borderline fabrication!

As soon as I get a prototype made I will post some pics..
Again if you're interested please let me know so I can have enough for everyone otherwise it will be a small run.
