im an mp3 hoarder!

yo my music files are in such a mess youguys. after years of beat making and general music appreciation I have gained a large collection of music on my computer, but have not developed a nack for organizing it. its really bad over hear lol its hard to describe but if you could see it .... is anyone else dealing with this? has anyone developed a good system?

i got kinda same problem.although i'm trying organising stuff since couple months ago when i download shit.same goes for beat, they got they're own folder but yea man, i got many GB of music which probably i will never use.fukin chaos

I too try to keep a feasible structure for my stuff. Right now I've got it kinda like this:

    • L 001 (these contain the samples I use or the backup)

      L …
    L Ableton
    • L 001
      • L project

    L Album (I group beat tapes and such releases so the general folder isn't flooded)
    • - 01.mp3
      - 02.mp3
      - …
    - 001.mp3 (all the other tracks)
    - 002.mp3

So after a thousand tracks I'll end my career ;D

I used to drive myself beserk organising mp3's . I listen to most music on Google Play now . As for own music . I throw it on an USB stick nd leave it

Oh, I misread that as being about music-making mp3s Well, when it comes to music I listen to I'm pretty obsessive about keeping things tidy I've got an incoming folder where all the new stuff resides that I haven't listened to, yet. After I decide if it's good enough to go into my library I orderly name the track, album, artist and year tags, try to find the cover and move it over to my music folder. There I've got a directory for every artist which hold folders for each release and single mp3s that weren't on an album or EP. All the single tracks from artists I don't have a full release of go into the main music folder.

I think the feature that really makes this practical is that my player (musicbee) tracks both the incoming and the music folder and marks stuff I haven't added to the library, yet, as incoming. So I can easily decide to listen to all the new stuff without keeping track of what I haven't listened to, yet.
