Hello i just got the 505 and this happend to me random after i turned it on one day i went to get a smart media reader for the laptop to update it but i have no way to update it if its stuck on that screen please help!

We have found the following information on this:

The "_00016.mid" data was included in the SMF UPDATE FILE distributed in the early.
As an error message "Warning! Please update preset file" will be indicated if the "_00016.mid" data will be loaded, please do not load the "_00016.mid" data. Loading the update data from "_00001.mid" to "_00015.mid" will complete the update.

If the error message "Warning! Please update preset file" is indicated, please load a Factory DATA using a "UPDATE & FACTORY DATA CARD" (Smart Media).

We would first recommend trying to update the SP-505 only using the MIDI files 1-15 (not 16) as indicated above. If that still does not reset the message, you would then need to update using a Smart Media card.

Nope bro i even went so far to ask Kev Browns close friend early reed and he has never experienced this problem
