Ok. Time stretching produces a lot of useless artifacts.

What i do all the time (and i love the sound of it) is the following technique

1. Stretch the sample

2. Apply reverb on it. But with tone all way up, balance all way up and time all way down.

The artifacts dissapear and then im happy. the sound is different, for sure, but it is no longer irritating.

hope it helps, tho i think it is obvious for the most of you.

ive just been trying this and you can get some effective results by resampling numerous times and adding dif FX. it undoubtedly changes the sample but it works well.

What exactly does it change? Does it make the sound less uhm robotic? Definitely something I've got to try out then.

My samples never sound like they did when they went in unless I make a point of it so the listener can recognize the song. But if you really want to match a sample to practically any tempo in the sequencer here's what I do, say I have a beat in the sequencer that's 80bpm but the sample I have in mind for using is 140bpm I just hit the time/bpm button and use the cntrl knob that doubles or halves your sample bpm in case you sampled a a half measure or two measures instead of one. Using this knob make the bpm to 70, half the original but the sample still sounds the same now I just use the bpm function to timestretch the 70bpm sample to 80bpm to match the sequence it will be put into. Since shifting the bpm of a sample up a little barely adds artifacts as opposed to shifting down even one bpm and completely changing the sample. If that helped anyone one feel free to send me 1 million disney dollars c/o Dale Burnhard: 500 Indianapolis ave. Go Dumb USA.
