hows the filters?
Im thinking about buying a 202 to use as a combo with my 404sx. One thing i dont like about the 404 is the filter. it has to high cutoff or someshit that makes it sound like shit when i try to filter a bassline.
so im wondering about your opinions on the filters on the 202. are they better than the 404?
And also how do the pads feel, are they the same as on the 404?

i had once a 202 and a 404, i have a 303,505, 606.
i found the 202 maybe the best filters on the SPs field (i havent tried the sp555 and 808)

There's a warmth and grit to them as far as I recall. I guess going to YouTube might give you an idea of what it sounds like.

For bass, you should look into a Zoom SampleTrak ST-224.

Re: hows the filters?
I found that the 202's filter 2 on a sample recorded in lofi-2 isolates the bass entirely. The pads feel easier to press than the pads on my 404. I think this is because the 404 pads are longer, as in they stick up from the faceplate more than the 202's pads.

Re: hows the filters?
i already copped the zoom lol. It looks like a beast, instantly fell in love with the dirty sound of it. Might still buy the 202 if i find a good deal tho
Re: hows the filters?
Extreme EQ and Lo Pass filter settings are beast on the SampleTrak!
Really easy to chop on.
The sequencer sucks a little. I just record all my loops live.
And the compressor on it is worthless. But,
Got a great dirty sound.

Re: hows the filters?
Speaking of filters, you may want to look into one of these outboard filters...

The Electrix Filter Factory/Queen might be a different path of getting some low end frequencies filtered out, and they are sometimes on eBay for a decent price. They both use RCA jacks, and give you some filters you might not find in the SP family.
