It was a very hard choice for me between hellopillow and kel.
I loved all the beats in this battle but those really stuck out to me.
I went with hellowpillow because I really like the more chilled out type of sp beats, also the choice of drum hits out of that break was key. Great job dude

1) Chopperman - Loved the pattern of the hats and rollin bass. Then the guy reverses it and it sounds even crazier. Worked in the acapella for the chorus. It was perfect. Get my vote
2) Kel - Strong sound. Great melody and rhythm that was very well put together. Glad we gave him the extra day
3) Hellopillow - Great vibe a lot of interesting sounds keeping me listening to this one. The slowed down acapella was nice too.

It was about 5 AM. I was listening to the flips while on my paper route this morning. I stopped the car in front of one of the houses that get porch delivery, focusing on one of the beats and writing down my thoughts on it. Then I heard the customer there open their front door and step out to the porch. Then I realized that I couldn't remember whether I had already got out and delivered their paper. So I get out and see the senile man on his porch, in the shadows, standing where he's startled and spooked me a few times before. I ask him "Did I already deliver your paper?" and of course he's confused. Not only is it a ridiculous question, but the guy is probably in his 90s. So he just makes a motion like go ahead and toss me the paper. I hesitate, and then throw it beside him as he's stepping forward to take it. Then I apologize for not just handing it to him. Quite an awkward and hilarious interaction.

I always feel like I suck at writing critiques, but its worth a try. Hopefully someone can take something from it, and at least it shows that all flips were considered.

Teewok - Relaxing. The kind of track I can listen to over and over.
magicsean - Had my head nodding right away with that powerful kick. Kept it nodding. Hyponotic.
HELLOPILLOW - Like I just read in the comments on the track, love the snare thing. Way to think outside the drumset! Also love the loose rhythms of it. Just a bit to gritty for my old ears, especially toward the end and especially when I listened through headphones. I do respect those frequencies' abilities to pierce right to the soul tho.
Chaz - Nice use of the break! Concrete jungle vibe, so that "from the street!" sample fits well.
svvje - Caught a really nice vibe here! Love the bass. Almost sounds like your hat is sampled from the same sound as hellopillows snare.
l i f - Explosive energy! Works well with the vocals, especially in the chorus.
CZNVIN90 - Another well captured vibe. Proper amount of fuzz.
Commercialwasteland - Kickass work linking the rhymes and beat.
Ellaguru - The hats instantly made me think of scizzors, leading me to think that sampling Edward Scizzorhands over this would be dope. It works well without vocals tho.. seems to sharpen my focus.
Kel - Majestic as fuck like the dog in the photo. I hope this is a lot longer in its final form!
Marco Grouch - Pensive. Cool how the choppy intro makes the beat that much smoother. Nice subtle effect use.

Voted for Kel. 2nd and 3rd choices were Teewok and svvje
Dope round! Thanks for listening and for the kind words in return.

I went with Ellaguru on this one.. the vibe was very cool. Chopperman and Teewok right behind.. and thanks for the extra time and kind words!

@Chopperman, that's a funny story. Those awkward moments that are gone just as soon as they happen, but aren't quite worth the time to explain to the other person. It makes me think of when I was riding my bike in Seattle and got tired so I wanted to mount the bike on the front of a bus and take the bus home. I had never used the bike rack before so I knew it would probably take a minute to figure out, which would in turn waste a little bit of everybody's time. So when the bus showed up, I made a beeline straight towards the front of the line to get to the rack, awkwardly cutting through the line so I could get closer before everybody had a chance to board. This girl was like "Uhhh ok, excuse me?! How rude." and I wanted to explain that I wasn't trying to be rude, just wanted a head start at figuring out the bike thing.. but it would've taken more time to explain than I thought necessary so I just said nothing..

@kel, i know that feeling all too well.. That letdown when your attempted politeness is mistaken. If there's no time to explain, the only quick remedy for it is laughing about it. We're human, therefore we fuck up on the daily! LOL

How about we consider it a 4-way tie, with Hellopillow being the main winner, therefore hosting the next battle? Kind of was already loving the idea of my song being on the next Winner's Circle comp, tbh.
congrats to Hello, Svvje and Ellaguru! I'll do the trophies a couple of weeks from today. I update the trophy page on the first sunday of each month. That way its something i look forward to doing instead of it feeling like a chore at times.
One week from Tuesday, on the first of December I will upload a video that i put together for the last Winner's Circle comp. I will post a link here as well as on the music page. I used sections dubbed from my old collection of skateboarding videos on vhs.. stuff as old as 1996. The footage compliments the music wonderfully. I'm planning to watch it with one of the old homies who used to watch these videos with me back in the day at 9 pm CST tuesday, dec 1st so if you want to join us, click play on it then. It will not disappoint! :D
