Blavatsky - New Low - Brand new 13 song album on Bandcamp

Post by blavatsky »

Hey guys - haven't been on here like I used to but glad to see the forums are still banging...here is an album I've been working on (well off and on) for a couple years. Been super busy but finally finished something

After a nearly two year hiatus, Blavatsky is back with a new batch of dark groove
laden tracks full of dusty booms and guttutral synths. Both a return to form and an evolved
sound come together in these lucky 13 tracks, with plenty of lo-fi samples and head nodding
rhthyms.
The SP-centric tracks are Jersey Devil, Dawn of the Cyborgs, Clockwork Automaton, Buddha Fist, Wildflower,
and Big Monster.

I have a very limited online/social media presence but if anyone has advice of other blogs/places to post
this I'd greatly appreciate it. I'd love to collaborate with other artists as well as possibly do
soundtrack/game work in the future; PM me

Dope work! I really enjoyed some of the vocal samples you used throughout this project. My favourite tracks were Electric Hippie, Gumshoe, and Clockwork Automation, and Big Monster!

BTW I got the chance to visit Asheville for my first time this past summer. What a great city! So many amazing breweries, great restaurants, good record stores, and MOOG! Plus the beautiful mountains and Sierra Nevada right next door. I can't wait to go back!

Cool man, glad you got to visit my hometown! It's a cool place if you can find work and afford the cost of living  ...kinda like a southern version of San Francisco or Portland. Lots and lots of talented folks here....oh and getting to see the Moog factory/workshop is humbling for an electronic music nerd

Thanks man! Can you send me the link when you do? I'm trying to find forums like that to send this to an get it out there

The brain of the studio is definitely the roland MV8800 - beast mode all day, I barely scratch the surface of what it can do. Other gear includes:
Alesis Fusion, Juno 106, Moog SubPhatty, Arturia MiniBrute, Boss RC-505, Elektron A4, Eventide TimeFactor, OTO Biscuit, WET reverb, M-Audio Venom, Kaoss pads, SP404sx

You got a Moog Sub Phatty? I'm so jealous. I'd love to get my hands on one. But they go for big loot. I'd have to go homeless for a month or two to afford one.

The beat piece of gear I own is my SampleTrak, bought off Blav.
I never could find one of those around.
I get my hands on a 303 and my setup is complete.

Glad to hear the sampletrak is getting some use! I could not wrap my head around it very well but i've heard guys do great things with it

Yeah I recommend the subphatty - I basically sold a minibrute and a bass station II to buy it (deal was too good to pass, around $600)
