Soundcloud vs Bandcamp vs Youtube vs Other?

which platforms do people prefer?

i use bandcamp .. but i dont feel its designed for the average listener .. gonna move over to youtube as the basis (average person wants instant response).. nd use bandcamp for archiving projects for download .

i feel digital has created a disconnect between people wanting to even listen apposed to receiving physical copies.

the whole point being .. ONLINE FEELS A WASTE (for me) MiGHT ASWELL FLY DiSCS TO PEOPLE IN PERSON.

trawling through endless amounts of music (which admittidly do myself)

better off hotlinking your links through video. people aren't looking for albums (atleast how im seeing it)

most of my music i think is heard through soundcloud. band camp works sometimes to get random listens but on soundcloud liking and commenting and listening to others music gets yours heard. youtube is the best for music videos i think just because it gets used more than vimeo

I love Bandcamp for discovering new underground lofi hip hop groups.
And I'm down to support those who are selling cassettes.

But as far as finding new music, YouTube is king.
When I want to listen to a song that pops in my head, and I don't have the vinyl in my collection, I search YouTube for it.
And I have a blast watching the recommended videos that pull up alongside it.
If you got a release and want to build some hype for it, I strongly suggest getting a music video made that is of quality. You don't have to go out and buy a can and shoot something artsy. I like the chopped up video collages put together by the likes of GodsConnect and Raw Flakes did some ill work too.
YouTube is a great hype tool to get found and build a fan base.

I use SoundCloud and think that is dope too. But it is pretty much a community site filled with other artists and producers. I think that is a great site to find others to collab with.
