i have my SP-606, SP-505 and my CMC-PD living in harmony with my new 16-Core Opteron desktop.

desktop is running Ubuntu with the kxstudio repos installed, Geist and flstudio are running through wine.

The CMC-PD is giving the 505 much needed velocity sensitivity. 606 is interface and controller for apps, after things are sketched out internally.

i feel ready to take on the world.

I need to come on SP forums more often :(
since I last posted I've acquired
+turntable (numark ttusb)
+patchbay (I seriously recommend investing in one, life is 100x easier)
+really shitty nady rack compressor (it's amazing)
+Korg ESX-1 (why the fuck don't people use this for lofi more)
+SP-303 (yessssssssssssssssssssss mfx12)
+360 Systems Short/Cut (archaic late 90s audio editor, was apparently really big in broadcasting. I can just use it as a recorder, and also it looks fucking beautiful)

I always tell myself "right, next piece of gear, I'm finally finished"
but I've learned the more I expand... the more room there is for further expansion

my gear fetish grows stronger

I know!! its so wrong. I have every thing I need to do my mission. yet I still want more!

I should sign up for "gear head anonymous" but I cut out a lot of gear recently. my goal now is to make an album using nothing but my SP's,
Vinyl, an Ion TTUSB, a Mic and Open Source Software.

I'd spend my money on a better turntable than an Ion first before I bought anything else.

why? its worked fine for years and never gave me a problem.
I don’t think of myself as a DJ, and don’t need a direct drive.

what would a more expensive turntable give me that I need, besides plater motor noises that I’d have to filter out?

after all I said:

I mean, why you trying to piss on me for that? that was a sh**y thing to say.
