SPBB 188 - FINAL FANTASY FLIPS

Post by KIYANI »

OK I want to hear your best flips of any Final Fantasy soundtrack. Sample from the original soundtracks or covers. There is so much good sample material out there for this! Even if you never played the games or didn't like them, Nobuo Uematsu is a true boss and the soundtracks are mint.

Extra props if you sample from a PS1 or Nintendo. Use any drums and bass and synths whatever. I'm definitely not a good person to lay down rules about shit. Just be creative. I think it will be good to see how different people will go for a different vibe sample, rather than just everyone flipping the same samples.

Seriously there is so much mad shit out there for this:

Ayo it seems i've disappointed some people haha. I didn't have as much samples as I thought. I'm a damn dirty backpacker just got to australia a couple months ago so I have no crates! I have some stuff buried deep within the MPC which I could dig out but I was feelin in a bit of a rush to start the next battle. If y'all can wait I will provide some indian and pakistani stuff that you have never heard before and probably won't again. Like tunes recorded off the radio in Pakistan.

If people in general would prefer that then we can do it. Just give me some days to sort

Final Fantasy will be just fine. Im not a gamer. Find it boooring. But games as a sample source is nice :)
I found some Casio tone drums on youtube that I intend to use...

Me again…
I worked a lot with compressor (MFX12) when making this track. I used it when I was in pattern mode. It’s not easy to balance the volumes of the different samples… I know “comp” was a big subject on the forum some years ago…

Real nice man! If I can't guess what sample you used then I think you did a pretty good job
