anybody thought about setting up a youtube for the forum .. its hard keeping track of who's doing what sometimes .. especially with so many heads posting up new music all the time

It would be cool to have a section for live performance uploads & user-made beat videos, if you can organize a YouTube channel that way anyway.

im guessing it would be a smart move to have a Mod regulate entries .. to prevent spammers ..

i dunno , allow the password to users then change it every now nd again for security (this could save Mod having to uploa on behalf of SP heads .. nd the likes)

It wouldn't be too hard to set this up, it just needs a dedicated individual to set aside beat making time to make vids and upload them...We already had one guy doing SP Fam shows ( I wish I could remember who it was! I listened to two shows and they were good)...

Then you have the issue of the person in charge of curating 'quality' (if you will) and that could get ugly some point down the line...

I think the forums are fine, we just need something built into the site that culls posted music into a stream, sorta like the Reddit player, where it just creates a playlist of anything that can be played which is posted there.

This would be, imo, the best solution...turning SPForums into a radiostation, essentially.

We already have a music stream on the site, but it's still in beta and we don't really have any plans on developing it further at this point in time. But if you go to the MUSIC tab and then click on 'Open the player?' you'll get the music player.

That was niq names aka dirtykics... also before reading this thread i forgot about the music section altogether for years, it's buried at the top, lots of good stuff, wonder how many links work..

It hasn't been updated and the last cuts added weren't individuals but huge collabs...would be nice if one of our mini admins that takes care of the spam issues could maybe update that list once a month or something.

I'm working on an update. I've created a call for all your favorite SP-forums albums & EP's. I'm planning to do a big update with only the most valued albums & EP's and turn the music section into a sort of hall of fame.

Perhaps also important to have approval of the artist(s) to feature their project on the site. So e-mails or other ways to contact them would be very handy.
