SP 404sx Software makes the audio all weird

HI i got my sp 404sx yesterday and its my first time with any musical instrument besides a guitar and a piano but anyway i was trying to import an audio file from my computer onto the sd card and when i put the sd in the audio was all messed up and popping and it was only from the files from my computer i recorded some drums from vinyl and it didnt distort it at all whats happening?

make sure your using .wavs or .aiffs

Yeah i did and i put the bit all the way up and the sp distorted it

you don't make your sample higher than 16 bit

I also did this lowered it to 16 then to 8 and it still made it weird
