I think rules have to be as follow:
1. Use as much samples as u can.
2. Time limit 2 min.
3. Try not to use outside samples or synths. Maybe one "layer" allowed(synth, sample, instrument), not more. For example it could be bass(cause it could be hardly found in source files...but it could;)).
4. Have fun!

haven't entered an SP battle in a while! here's my entry.. used my SP-505 for everything,no outside sample, just layered drums from the breaks and sampled two of the songs. and mixed/mastered in ableton live
