so, i go alot to old shops, ask parents of friends, jumble sale, record store.
but in my town, there is not many recordstores, who can order and stuff.
so my question is, when you hear a song maybe on the internet, or on the radio, how do you get a quality sample?
do you download an mp3 from the internet, convert to wav and then load on the sp card, play it in there and make the beat? i think its the only method who comes to my mind.
thanks for replys.
Greetings

I've got no real answer. But in general I feel that if I've got an idea or feel for something - I need to get working straight away and get something done, whatever quality. Creative work should never be postponed or planned, inspiration can cool off quickly, or an idea gets replaced by another etc
If you hear it on Youtube, work on that. Make the sample work despite not perfect sound quality. Thinking, if I had this on vinyl I could make something so great, seems similar to, if I just had this Neumann mic/Neve preamp I would sound so great. Despite so many great tracks being recorded with inferior equipment.

Oh man that sample. I made a beat with it a few years back thinking I found a diamond in the rough. Then I heard it on a couple of beats from well known underground artists. It could be flipped several ways though.

If you can post on here you have access to Discogs and online stores all of which can easily supply you with that track and many others to buy.

Totally second Jangle's post, and with that in mind I have this program installed on my laptop that can record any sound that goes thru the soundcard so is perfect for taking sound recordings from any streaming audio/video. The licence-fee was minimal and worth imo since I use it all the time.
Otherwise soulseek peer-to-peer network.
Also, I'd sample more from vinyl but I spent years collecting records I like to listen to... which I find I rarely want to sample from; much prefer to sample music I don't like and try to make something better out of it. Generally speaking. That and my turntable only spits out left-channel so can only sample in single channel mono. Dum dum duuuum.
