I got lucky with this 404 since I (couldn't/didn't) test it fully. In fact, I'm pretty sure I saw an Err screen go on, when it first got powered-on by my Honda.

Now that I'm home, it appears to be a well working machine. For some reason, the AD/headphone output sounds better to my ears than the SX.

I think the OG 404 has a warmer and more pleasent sound than the SX, Ive never sued a SX so im not 100% sure on that

My little Realistic tape player just decided out the blue that it wanted to start eating tapes.
I just used it for simple recording and it had a dope pitch and tape speed settings to mess with.

Oh well, guess it forces me to use my 4 track more

I'm sure with just that unit, you're going to find enough beats to fill your SP303/Mpc1k/ASR10 for years to come. (Not to mention all the fx you could get from bouncing the samples from one to another).

Let us know when you make some beats with that!
