Glad to be a part of a new interesting round! Always nice see so many struggle to get something in right before deadline. Well done everyone!

Pate: thick, dense, flowing like syrup.

Arizona Al: Nice ride-intro, build-up. Well used melodic content. Feels really solid and works well with the mcs.

LIF: Thick lofi and really warped vinyl. Love the way you play with the play piano sample, pitching it etc!

OTBT: Great buzzing bass sound! Cool with the spoken dialogue.

OTBT2: Love the breakdown with bass and drums coming back! The part slowing down might be a tad long though.

yucca: Enjoyed the chopped up melody, varied with sax stabs. Rumbling and tumbling.

r4ph431: Nice pitch down in the intro. Then sheer rawness. Especially enjoyed the vibrating (slowed down B-part),

Zartie Biff: runs along nicely, fits well with the mc:s but would benefit from more variation later on.

Frank E Lee: Really made the melodic chops work! Beat grooves along nicely. Like how the flowing piano drills come in like waves on the beach.

Chopperman: Love the funky feel and refreshing airiness. Lots of space for someone to spit rhymes!!

janglesoul: well, I spent a long time playing around with chops without coming up with anything. So last minute, I went for a run and shot from the hip, began with drums and resampled some chord hits on top. Since I'm lousy finger drummer, I feel I've had some luck mixing drumloops in gate mode with oneshot-hits. It's all a bit random, some happy accidents, some not so happy. At least I finished something.

My favorites this round were Arizona Al, Chopperman and Frank E Lee. Not an easy choice, but the that flutey chop hits some sweet spot in me. Vote goes to Frank E Lee.

Love loved:
ArizonaAl
Janglesoul
yucca
OTB
pate

Couldve easily gone otb's way with the drum-processing/performance, but couldn't get past the movie-dialogue. Not that it's a bad film... i'd just watched it last week actually.
Real tight for me between the rest, believe it Jangleman you got mine for the vote.

4rizona4l got ma voice.
It's just dope man, can't even be said that it's a remix! Well structured and the vocals fits perfectly, a nice complete track!

Props to all you guys, respect!

@Yucca: thanks for the comment man!
I use the SP-808 so there is no MFX12 or MFX24  but i will try somethin compressed next time.

Vote went to yucca!...with r4ph431 , janglesoul , 4rizona4l , and l i f roundin' out muh top 5..181 was definitely a small group. And I think everyone's beat was a bit sloppy(in a good way) in one way or another, like we all chose to experiment with quick microwaves. I know I did. And I thought it was cool that everyone came a bit reckless.

props :P

Before I even listen to these tracks, MY VOTE GOES TO 4rizona4l.

I've been bumping his track since I first heard it. That shit is fyre!!

Here are my comments:

PATE.; What's up with the self-defeating title? Have some confidence in your work! It's not that bad...

l i f : You got that swinging groove that I dig, very jazzy. RIP NAGI :c

otbt: I reposted the first flip on my SC :] Very ambitious submissions! I really dug the second part of your second beat. Gj meng, keep it up!

yucca: Oh fuck! way to keep it relevant. I like that. My heads bobbing* so that's a good sign. I look for that in most beats, am feeling it.

zartie biff.: Damn, I'm not really into Quaz to begin with so my opinion is biased...

janglesoul: Yeaaaah. I like these drums a lot. This one's a top contender for sure.

Frankie_LEE: Very nicely done! Mad proper. I like the crunch and feel of the drums.

Chopperman: very choppy, v chopperman.

After hearing all the submissions I am still of the opinion that 4rizona4l fucking killed it.

Good job everybody!
