so this may be obvious to others, but i just figgered it out.

i've been trying to figger out a workaround so that I can record, in time, over drumbeats i've awready loaded into the 404. obviously you can't hear them and you can't isolate them just to the headphones. what to do?

what i just figgered out is that you can hit record, select yr pad, then SET THE BPM! this makes the otherwise annoying light flash in time, and you can use the flashing light to count it off while you record in. takes a bit of getting used to, but you can get it in time. worx pretty well.

thot i'd share. again - thorry if this is obvs.

ha ha. for sure. not knowing i could set the bpm on recording in made it seem just like a gimmick (oh, it pulses in time. yawn), but as drewzle points out, it can be a visual metronome.

so suddenly: function!

and, yeah, it's breathing! ALIVE...ALIVE!!

but why did it have to be the 'flashing blue light' and not the 'blinking red dot'.

I mean, it looks so club-like...

i dunno, but when the 404 is just sittin there with the power on the blue light pulses at slow rate, like a person would when sleepin, it's a trip, but probably more of a trip if your shroomin'...
