I know someone plays bass here cause they sent me samples but i forgot who...but also if someone plays guitar, I was wondering if someone wanted try doing a 'live instrumentation' og soul train jam. I figure we could try an approach that's kinda successful for me lately which is just making a little loop sound as authentic as possible then sampling it like you found it at the record store, adding some stank via resampling.
Here's an example of some funk I did tonight on the RS, showing I can kinda fiddlefuck around with the keys and come up with a jam if I spend longer than I normally do making riffs up. I resampled the entire thing and added the voice and filter stuff.

Anyway, hopefully someone wants to share in the funk. Shit, I bet we have enough people here that play instruments we could probably start a whole band or 8...lol
Doesn't someone play bass/guitar here?

Drums for almost 12 years.
I have a bass that I pretend I can play (Portis Head 3-note riffs). lolz
Still need to upload my mic tests for y'all. About two solid hours of all sorts of "just drums". Thanks for the reminder.

Sounds interesting!
I play guitar and try my best at bass when demoing my songs. "soul guitar" like Pops Staples, Curtis Mayfield is what I'm drawn to. At least I aim high...

Oh, ah. I'm down to record some stuff though I'm not too sure how funky my guitar playing can get... I'm sure I can come up with something. DM me!hseiken wrote:Me. The guitar in the song was just RS7K sounds.r4ph431 wrote: I can play guitar.. but who doesn't these days?

When the choice is between sampling the best players ever or making the loop yourself - it's awkward to claim you're the funkier choice.r4ph431 wrote:Oh, ah. Oi HS, dude that might've been me that sent you the bass guitar stuff back in the day. Know I've sent some riffs out to folks a few yers back but forgot who got them as well, heh.
Keen to try a jam with everyone in this thread! My style's not too funky, it's more modal & countermelody stuff. But give me a solid rhythm or lead & I'll lock in no worries. Only catch is I'm badly out of practice, but I still have the muscle memory for scales. But that shouldn't be a hassle if you're gonna sample & stank it up right?
