Keleidoloop vs SP404sx

Anyone of you has used the Critter and Guitari "kaleidoloop" , it is convenient to have one...... besides sp404sx?
Keleidoloop look's great, and very practical!!!!.........I want to record ambient sounds at all times.
Or you could recommend me some microphone to record ambiental sounds straight to sp404sx.

If you're looking for a durable mic... the SM57 is always readily available. $100 new.
You are going to need an XLR-to-TS cable/adapter to get it plugged into the 404.

Condensers won't work because you need phantom power.
Stick to looking at dynamic mics.

Check out "Paul Stretch" on your hunt for ambiance. Pretty cool (and free) program.

I've got a Zoom H2 for my field recordings. I also record a lot with Voicememo on my iphone.

Shure SM57 or SM58 are great, durable mics that can take a beating (and often does) - so they can often be had used at low prices.

Haven't been able to use a Kaleidoloop and I've seen a few YouTube vids with it in action. It's no SP, that's for sure, but you have to decide if it's worth it to spend the dough on one. Critter & Guitari make some cool stuff, but I'm not sure if the Kaledioloop is worth it. But if you feel it might work for you, you could try it, and if you don't feel it, you can sell it on eBay and use the money on something else.

Critter & Guitari DO have some pretty sweet stuff, I'm planning on grabbing a Pocket Keyboard this weekend actually.

The thing with the Keleidoloop for me is that it seems to do what other, cheaper pocket recorders can do, but in a neater, bulkier package.

Still, would be cool to own one.

Would love to know if any other SP's here have one and what they think of it as well.
