my first sample was the beat off the intro to miles' pharaoh's dance
i didnt have a cd player at the time so i had to plug my cheapo walmart dvd player into my mixer then the 202
idk i really love samplers but i find myself sampling my own sounds instead of records more often than not

not 100 percent sure but one of my first sampled loops was by the cascades it was a song called rhythm of the rain

this is the first beat i ever made on the SP404SX... from 2010. i actually like it better than some of my new stuff more of an arrangement to it then just a loop. i was using ableton for about half a year before i got an sp.

i sampled a jazz record, a DnB record, and a hip hop record

First time posting on the sp-forums, figured this would be an interesting starting point. So the first sample i ever pulled was from the original texas chainsaw massacre.

Its at 00:53 in this trailer. If I can recall, wasn't able to do anything remotely creative with it haha. Perhaps ill see if i can do something cool with it now tho

It actually took me quite a bit of time to start pulling from records, before that my samples were mostly comprised of sounds from my drum set, guitar, or pocket piano.
