i think the new raspberry pi could make a good sp buddy ... reaper and bitwig do support linux - and they can do basicly everything a SP-Bro should do...

I'm trying to lean on a more hardware based solution. Something you don't use with a screen, or that doesn't need updates and stuff like that.

Not to say that your idea wouldn't work tho :)
