switching from effects to samples live

Post by A1Playa »

What up I have a question about using the 404 live. I can use the effects button fine, but when I use my samples I can't go back to the effects like the isolator want work anymore unless I turn the 404 off to trigger it again and that is not possible in a live set if you want to work again. Can somebody help. Thanks

use the remain button to define a current pad.
It's all in the manual, so read it.

.... and what's up with that picture?

I am a hands on as opposed to understanding the manual. I read it and didn't get the understanding that I needed. Thanks for the post and any other help will be great. The pic is just some cat getting down on his turntables.

with no pads playing, hold remain, and you can select which pads you wanna apply effects to. when you turn on the fx, it will remember the pads you selected.

Thanks to everyone that respond to this post I haven't explained enough. i use it when djing and when I want to kill the lows and mids for example when I am live playing with the isolator button it works fine but when you use the pad in say c to lay down some drops live and try and go back to just using the isolator button again it will not trigger.

i m not 100% sure i understand but say you have isolater working on bank a sample 1 and then you want to play bank c sample 1 a few times un-effected, then go back to tweaking the isolater on bank a sample 1 - the light will be out on isolater but the effect will still be controlled by the knobs... if you wanted to also have the isolater be on the bank c pad 1 sample you would hold remain and touch bank c pad 1 so its lit

I'm not sure I follow the question either, but I'm sure the 404 can do what you want it to. I use it live a lot and I never have a problem with switching effects between pads and banks.

Is the problem in switching between banks C through H while still playing with the effect parameters? Or is the problem with applying effects to new pads and then going back to the old pad? Or something else entirely?
