shopgoodwill.com - opinions?

Post by nique »

Anyone purchase anything off shopgoodwill.com? Anyone ever gone and looked through past listings (just search Google.com 'whatever it is' and shopgoodwill.com) A lot of great items --- the prices, however, are bonkerz.

I swear that someone is working at Goodwil to push the price up --- it makes no sense that items sell for close to eBay prices and there return/warranty is nowhere near as "safe" as eBay. (I'm not a huge fan of eBay either, but I do buy on that site)

Sorry if I'm venting, but Goodwill is a joke of a "good will".

It's been good a little bit in sorta mitigating the megaflation of ebay, but it and other smaller sites can't keep up with the fortune seekers/flippers that inevitably will end up there...

On the plus side, though, this is a bit more ethical when done here since GoodWill is a charity, so if poeple pay more it does more good.

I dunno if feels is enough to sway you on paying more.

By the way, it's not a bad price now, for the SP-303. However, shopgoodwill.com auctions seem to end high for no reason...

On the SP-303 page,
"This item may not be returned for any reason."

When I saw that clip I posted on TV (whenever that aired), it soured my views on Goodwill. :?

I frequent my local Goddwills quite often and the employee told me that they literally ship everything of value out to the marketplace. It just irks me that I will never find a gem at the Goodwill and honestly I don't even shop there anymore since there really is no point. My local goodwill even ships out all the vinyl and cassettes

I really do not agree with goodwill on any level. The prices are bonkers and considering how they source their product... dayum!

I had no idea they were up to their feindish ways online though. Makes too much sense.

Up here in Ontario, goodwill throw away anything they think is related to computer hardware. Although if you volunteer there you can buy any of that ish for a dollar.
Dunno if that's how it works down south.

I'm debating whether or not putting in 4 hours on weekends would be worth the chance to find cool old tech or getting dibs on potential music gear.

Do it, and volunteer at least a few times because you-never-know what the next day will bring. Let us know if you find anything cool!

I almost got sucked into that...

http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews123123.html
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/retail/g ... store.html

but all I've heard is maaaaad shit about how shady they are

customer harassment, volunteer harassment, scamming people even in the physical store locations, purposely selling really broken shit on the marketplace... also heard from an ex-volunteer somewhere [maybe one of those review sites] that the 'supporting charity' aspect was either deceptively false or grossly exaggerated... so idk man
