SP404sx preformance vid

Post by philphil »

Absolutely loving this machine. Beat produced on MPC/Ableton, took 4 looped stems (1:drums, 2:melody1, 3:mel2, 4:acap) from DAW and spread them on 4 pads. It's like I'm jamming with my own tracks. Hope you'll enjoy.

Merci mec, thanks guys. Here is another one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwjioguOOQI

The good part with making vids is that you need to practice quite intensely to get it right. I think I must have done about 20 takes.

Nice video, how do you like the 404 with the RNC compressor?

I really like it. I played out without it last night (stupidly forgot the power supply at another venue...) and could def hear a difference. I use normal mode. I have had it for only about a couple weeks so still a bit to explore. Overall it really does glue everything together nicely. Since I take stems from my ableton projects and import them on the SP it needs some kind of master compression, which is why I bought it.

I'm thinking of buying one of these neat little FMR boxes

I still can't decide between the RNC and the RNLA - did you test both before buying the RNC?

No I only tried the RNC, based on reviews. Thinking again I guess the limiter was prob more what I was after. Cheers

Hehe merci mec, dans les musique de films des 60's y'a a manger et a boire.

About the RNC, I will try increasing the drums volume and decrease the comp threshold and hopefully have a nice pumping sound.

RNC... set attack and release pretty high (past 2 o'clock), ratio low, threshold around -10. Same trick works in Really Nice Mode but the effect is subtle on low end freqs but sexy on loud vocals.
