Re: SP Beat Battle 174 POLL
you know
here's my objective opinions and some (hopefully) constructive feedback..
l i f: sick mix, nice bass, crisp, dope energy, sweet change up.
IIIII: chillin, killer swing and crisp drums.
pleb man: nice groove and vocal cuts. maybe a change up for extra points.
gis_sweden: gis with drums!! digin it. dunno much about snow here in aus but i'm feelin the slushy and shuddery chilly vibes down my back.
ellaguru: "when I'm with tha heiro creeeewwww" love the bass. nice drum change ups and variations. i wanna hear someone rap over this. preferably Wildchild haha. suss [Wildchild - How We Do (feat. Souls Of Mischief)]
vastique: cool subtle chops swooping in here and there. real seamless. wanted more though
yngtmgtchi: making my eyes dart around inside my head. cool different groove.
Ferrari Boy: cool cruisin'... woa, got weird for me at the end.
Freshsurf: killer unique rhythm and synth improv. 2min rule but whatever, solid track.
otbt: barely holding my brain together on this one haha. good crazy.
rak: full low key lurkin in the shadows waiting for the train to roll up. diggin the little baby scratches coming in and out. i like.
Chess: head nodding. unrecognisable sample flip. love that slicer!! sick momentum.
Frankie_Lee: nice chop choices and was feeling a couple of bits. drums could be a bit fatter.
Runme Raw: fuck, that video made me want to top myself. it's like the fractal of human filth. killer beat though. all the way through, pro.
runme raw
ellaguru
chess
Edit:
r4ph431: hot sauce!

Re: SP Beat Battle 174 POLL
Heya + two cents worth of opinions on a whole bunch of gold this week, nice work e'ryone.. hope this momentum keeps up the year out
IIIIIIII:
Sweet-as bounce to this, real hiphopinstrumental feel just needs an acapella or a switch. Dig the sample-flip.
Plebman:
Another sweet bounce, dug.. but you recorded to cassette and the tape ran out? 45 seconds a bit of a tease man
Alnitak_Kid:
This is really real - loved the restructuring/arrangement of the chops - real creative in the verses and that HOOOOOK! Gorgeous.
gis_sweden:
love the durrty/crunch mix. feels like waking up on a snow-day still stoned from the night before and schools cancelled because of the weather
ellaguru:
of the same high quality I've come to expect from you. hwva i think with this, the extreme panning again, mbe time to switch it up..?
gogdog:
good vibes. real nice job... too short! (mbe I'm greedy?)
yamagotchi:
Ableton Live? Anyways, this track breathes and I'm breathing in and out with it, that's real shit, when there's a physical response.
Ferrari:
Yeh man, this shit kills - real glad to see you here. I like this is outside and inside at the same time. If that makes sense. I call this Genuine.
Fresh:
You're like my favourites week in week out, pushing drums in new directions. .. a little too bad you went over this week, not because of rules but because I found the soloing a little noodly after 2:30. Track itself: loved.
otbt:
started strong, and I'm totally with the pushing the abstrakt generally (boundaries gotta go!) but i lost the pulse and couldn't find it again. I should mbe try again.
rak:
sounds like I got bong-water in my ears! great mood and groove allthesame
Chess:
This one I listened to most, probably 4 or 5 times. First listen felt it was too sweet... then I found myself hitting repeat, again. Sold on this vibe, super.
Frnk:
great chops, def. live/improv feel.
RunmeRaw:
Well, seriously - this is the quality we've come to expect from you man... pro-styles Illness on the sp. Cheers for the vid-link too, tho I noticed how I stopped listening to the music soaking in the images (video killed the radio-star is true that).
Who to vote for... not sure.
Think I'll give it to Ferrari with special love to Almitak, gis and Fresh and UTMOST respect to evryone for a great listening-session. Keep pushing those buttons

Re: SP Beat Battle 174 POLL
l i f - as always such a masterly display of technique, i'd love to hear you come clean on a round with that drum n bass skill i know you have
lllll - yes that badapbup beat always gets me, respects for tweaking out the melody on an interesting tone.
pleb man - yeah. straight serious here. AZ bonus points.
Alnitak_Kid - I think you flipped that bass riff the best, great cuts in between, very nice.
gis_sweden - nice loop flip with the boom bap beat. i missed that deep gis atmosphere on this one though (maybe just me)
ellaguru - great drums and bass, drums have lots of nice riffs.
vastique - yeah this one was heavy nice use of samples especially that padded guitar with the tape delay.
YUNG TAMAGOTCHI - nice drums i like the way you filter all your tracks in and out thats an ill technique.
Ferrari Boy - yo. nice swaggy beat, artwork too. nice job
otbt - blam! came with crazy knocky nuked drums on this
rak - this was cool i like the chillness of this mix nice work
Chess - cool cool unique flip respect also nice sample melodies and bassline,
Frankie_LEE - that was a cool flip nice vibes on that slow it down a bit and bring up the low end lower that side slap and you have a seriously soulful banger I liked this track a lot.
Runme_Raw - Yup that flip was worth a crazy video, really really cool mane.
Came down to everybody this round honestly lol I sent it to Frankie_LEE for bringing some feels on this, nice chops
