this would mean that if you play a 2nd sample from the card and mute the 1st? because that would be smth like "mute groups" on the MPC, 404`s biggest drawback

Mute Groups?
i`m waiting for the sp202 but while getting bored and reading the manual i realised that a sample from the memory card takes up 3 out of 4 voices.
this would mean that if you play a 2nd sample from the card and mute the 1st? because that would be smth like "mute groups" on the MPC, 404`s biggest drawback

Re: Mute Groups?
never mind that, i just got the sp202. it seems that the pads in c/d can be used as they would all be assigned to the same mute group. unfortunately you cannot retrigger a pad by pressing it again, it first turns off and then on again

Re: Mute Groups?
you could record a performance from the 404 in delete mode into the 202, that would be kind of like an mpc style mute group
Re: Mute Groups?
i don`t really understand what you mean... but whenever i need mute groups i just resample the 404 pads to the 202. then i play the part on the 202 (also gets some 202 character) and resample to the 404
seems to work for me

Re: Mute Groups?
if you want mute group on the SP,set the sample to loop and gate off....so lets say u have two samples set both to loop and gate off, when u hit the first pad let it play until u want to hit the next pad but hit both pads at the same time, the first sample will cut off and the next sample will paly....
