303 time/bpm lots of clicks and subtle glitching (bad kind)

Post by ormo »

Just got a 303.
Everything seems to work fine except when I adjust the time/bpm in a way that slows the sample down I get lots of clicks and pops.
Sounds nothing like any of the other sp time adjustments.
Any one else had this issue?
How did you fix it?
There is no card in the unit and I'm using a 9v 1000mA/1A adapter.
Thanks

hi man! how are you?
well from what you're saying it sounds almost a normal thing for the 303
sometimes this happens to my 505 also...
have you tried different samples rate too?
ps
where are yours s20,su700,sp606 and 505?

Hey man!
I'm presently messing with a 303 a vp9000 a 606 and my s20 of course.

This clicking sound though.
It's like not natural. Like the 202 timestretch sounds cleaner.
I tried updating the os on the 303 and I've tried many different samples and rates. There have been a couple times that it sounded clean. But for the most part it sounds like it's curcuit bent (poorly).

I like the vp because it's really simple and extremely good at doing the few things that it's designed to do.

I tried sampling onto a card with this 303 and had the same results.

Man, something is wrong with this 303. I loaded up a card from my 505 on it and the timestretch sounded so awful. And the start and end of loops have these little glitchy sounds. Like I know what sp time strech sounds like and this like a bad dsp chip or something.
The sp series timestretch is a little rough, but this sounds like the chunks that the process cuts the sound into have all lost the fades that make them more seamless, and are now just hard cuts with loud clicks.
The guy I got it from is gonna refund my money.
