mpc vs MV

mpc vs MV
workflow ? saving ? sound quality, are they even comparable, I know mv has multi track and FX , but how about for beats, is there something special about the MV that I missed, thinking about getting a used one to complete the studio.

from what i understand you have to tell what mpcs...if you compare the last generation of them (mpc500,1000,2500,5000), then the mpcs (with JJOS) vs mv could stand for what concerns seq-fx-multitracking-mastering-time for saving-workflow etc....for what concerns mpc's old generation (mpc60,3000,2000,2000xl) they're maybe imbeatble in therms of sound...their seq is also very good...their (for now standard is poor) time for saving is not comparable to mpc new generation nor MVs...for a detailed critic to MVs check the other roland sampler section...i think their really beasts...speaking of mpcs, someone told me that the only comparison with the MVs is possible just with the mpc4000...

I do not know much about the MV's but I've had an MPC for a while so I can't really speak on differences. Head over to MPC-forums and read around, there's a ton of information and I think there is even a thread about the MV-series.
All I can say is that if I were thinking about picking up an MPC for the first time today... I'd go with a loaded 2500 with JJOS and I wouldn't look back.

yo im digging it so far, and the sound can be comparible almost exactly to a SP505, I think the encoding on my digital recorder is a bit fuzzy, (thats where I kept my samples) so when I bounced those to the sp505 I got a sound like the MPC, I think tho for now I am going to record the MPC into the SP606 because that has good mastering and FX, and that's about all I can use the 606 for, then dump to the sony USB recorder, and its ready to rock.
still getting a handle of the MPC tho, almost made a full program (4 banks) and am just saving a startup file, so when I turn it on all the sequences and samples are how I left it, it's lazy saving, cause I should be naming all the patterns, tracks and samples and saving them into custom folders, and boot up on a blank slate, so I can load whatever project without file name conflicts. having a bit of fun bouncing back and forth between the 404 and 2000xl, And get real grimey with 303 LOFI into the MPC, Like I said tho, MPC is a little nuts, and SP505 and a sampletrack is almost the same thing.
