Yeh, so it's Indaba, but shit ->> hi-quality stems of "St Thomas" and "Doxy" to play with and I don't think it would be fair if the only submissions they got were a slew of god-awful Avicii-wanabes doing EDM drops on Max Roach!

Just had a browse of the sample packs and thought it was worth mentioning that the "chopped samples" pack in the Sonny Rollins comp. is a series of one-shots: each element of Roach's kit, tom rolls, snare hits, cymbals, hats etc... none too shabby...

EDIT: Actually, they're chopped so short I'm not sure what good they really are... the cymbals esp. are really cut though could mbe be salvaged with an appropriate reverb patch so they can sustain... at least the drum solo they pulled them from is intact

Managed to piece this together in Audition by chopping samples from a rough draft recording I made, juggling some riffs, before the zip disk expired on the 808 and lost me any chance to jam it out live... that said, I'm pretty happy - managed to make a pretty-much new tune out of this Rollins track - link is HERE if you wanna check it out
