problem on recording from external source

Post by rak »

hello sp community!i'm also a new sp user.just got an sp 606 and i am trying to sample from an external source.the problem is that although the sp recognises the sound input (mono L channel) as it shows on the input setting screen,no sound comes out from the speakers.rec level and volume knobs are checked.i cannot record anything.does anyone know anything about this problem??
thanks in advance!

from my experience i can tell you that this machine , like the sp505 and maybe the sp808, is not 100% instinct* and intuitive, so, basically, i understood many things of it by reading the manual and found hidden things about the 606...(for example 1-the curious internal synth...not the dbeam one..2-the powerful mute group system...3-the building Songs instead of Patterns...4-the roll...5-the feedback reaper effect...)

*check the 202,303 and 404 for that aim

It's way more simple than mpc but you have to read the manual!
The best way to practise is to enter the arena ( I did on the past ) and make some beats...don't worry about the final song ,people here are nice!
