yo.

i know Roland/BOSS are dependable, at least if we talkin bout sound&parts quality.
how's it with other gear producers - Tascam, Zoom and Fostex ?

i'm asking coz i got little dizzy recently. i'm going to buy multitrack and in the price range i can afford (350-400$ max) there're Boss br-600, Tascam DP-02CF, Zoom MRS-8SD and Fostex MR-8 mkII.
it seems some serious thinking have to be done

Peace.

everything i have used by Behringer has been of dubious quality
i'd definitely try before i buy if it was their product

i have a Zoom pedal which is built really well, still works after years and years (i got it second hand)
so there's a vote of confidence for Zoom : )

manufacture date can be arguably added to the deliberation as well.

I have had zoom products ( drum machines mostly ) and when i first started recording i owned a boss br -something it was a while ago before the cd drives and all that were built in. I can toss up a +1 vote for the br series as i took this thing to shows and peoples houses and dropped it down stairs and it still runs like new to this day. I think i have had it for 6 years now and i have never had to service it. Now alot of companies are moving work overseas so products are becomming cheaper in the way they are made . Example akai/numark with there series of plastic mpc's .. So it is good to try before you buy and make sure you get something reliable with ease of use. Have you checked the older roland vs series. Those things are tanks and can probally cop one for about that price.
