If anyone plays games on "Steam" add me @ "medearis".

Mostly playing 2D fighting games. Street Fighter on deck regularly.

If Steam had VF, I'd be there battling you. I'm not that great at SF.

I've been playing around with VF5 (PS3) lately. Not too fluid with the system/mechanics yet but the game is a fucking blast. Goofing off with a few other 2D'ers has been funny... all of us trying to feel out that third-dimension.

If you're serious about VF, you should pick up VF4Evo for PS2 and go through it's training mode. It's the best one of any fighter ever and is pretty much everything you need to practice to be competitive. Most tutorials don't even cover metagames, this one does and puts you in situations where you're allowed to practice techniques to deal with those situations (and it nearly covers every single one).

So by the end of the training, you should have a firm solid grasp of VF and after that, it's finding your style.

And I stand by my VF4Evo training suggestion to you. I don't have a copy of the newest V5FS (which is the newest one, and a completely redisgned engine which removed lots of the meta game from vf4/vf5) and it's also a couple frames slower. Basically, if you can hang on VF4Evo, then the newest game wll be a sinch...proof? I trained on VF4Evo for a year, weekly, only having someone bring by VF5FS about 4 times a month before Sega Cup and I nearly made top 16. I got knocked out by a guy who plays the newest one all the time, weekly and pretty much by one hit.

It's all about knowing how to deal with situations and reading what your opponent chooses for their option, as you know, but with VF, there's very little range game, fights are personal...which is why I like it.

Dude, thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out. Always down for some mo' fighters. Looks like I gotta get some PS2 sticks.
