why is that???, when I use the resampling method, and add a beat to my loop, recording stops at moments, not achieving a loop with a constant beat.
Sound is truncated!!!!

You might be going over the voice count. Try making your drums mono instead of stereo. Should work

Small list of resampling tips for 404:

1.) remember the resample polyphony: 4 mono voices OR 1 stereo voice and 2 mono voices OR 2 stereo voices. If you go over, oldest triggered sound will cut off.

2.) keep your card relatively empty. Your resampling will skip and jump and shit if your card is getting full.

3.) Test effects/plan your attack. Your track will be better if you figure out what problems you might have before they happen. Note which effects you want on your samples and try and apply them properly.

4.) Never underestimate just 'fucking around'. You'll figure out your workflow the more you just fidget with the 404. :)

5.) Herb.

for me its resample method allday. lately i use the internal banks for drums and chops and when i record i resample to a pad on the external banks. i feel like the internal banks have higher polyphony ability and so using this system u can avoid getting those annoying stops when u hit too many pads. does anyone else do it this way? maybe there should be a resample theory thread instead

and when i first got my 404 i hated chopping on it but after much practice i prefer using it. u just have to do some ninja training on the mark button and u will get the feel for it.
peace to all u sp brothers haha i never login so gotta say it now !!!

Resample-Rec-Stereo
then hit the pad you want to resample.

Btw not sure if you know..but if you hold Cancel then hit Rec you can use Knob 3 to set a recording threshold.
Set it to 1
Now when you sample it will only start recording when the volume of the sound coming in reaches "1" or whatever you set it to.
Saves time for me because i sample my drums into the sp off of a daw or phone

for a SP-404sx.
I hear many skip, jump and shit when I resampling (mono samples)
How can I manage my samples?
I use a 2gb card memory,...which banks must leave empty for resampling?
Wich are the internal and external banks?
I need help! :? ...Thanks so much!

the sx does not have an internal bank. Everything is stored in your memory card.
i don't know what you mean by skip, jump and shit.
I'm not one to be nit picky with organizing samples, i have one shot drums in almost all my banks ( kick snare crash hat shakers ) and other samples as well. It's all preference man.
Are you having any other problems resampling mono that i missed?

Here's some visuals. Some old visuals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UTVn4d ... 8e4hR3Rv4A

I use to record samples between banks D to J, and leave empty A to C banks to resample, but for some reason, when I try to resample, the sequence jumps or skip,..... may be I need to use a larger memory than 2gb or, I most record less samples, I don't know....all my samples are mono!!!,
thanks.

I think i know what you mean...okay, so when a pattern is made and you revisit it later, and it doesn't sound like the pattern you made in the sequencer, it could be you may have pressed mark on one of the pads, causing it to be glitchy or "jumps". The sample was exchanged, deleted, or recorded over; which makes it sound different than what you originally made.
It's happened to me way too many times on the sx, so i understand the frustration with this. Or i don't know what i'm talking about, so take this with a grain of sand.

also need to make sure the pattern is playing at it's original tempo for some samples
