SP Beat Battle 161

Post by otbt »

Rules for this one:
- You have to use a part of each sample
- The track length must be from 2 to 3 minutes
- For the rhythmical part you have to use only three sounds with different frequencies (low, mid, high)
- You have to use three different synth sounds (bass, pad, lead)
In everything else you are free to do what you want, of course your SP must be the head of the production.
One week to do it.

Have fun!

hey,
I don´t quiet get some of the rules:

- For the rhythmical part you have to use only three sounds with different frequencies (low, mid, high)
Does that mean only 3 Drum samples/sounds from the provided ones?
So can I layer drums from the samples but always have to use the same kick, hat & snare?

- You have to use three different synth sounds (bass, pad, lead)
Does that mean outside synth is allowed?

Cheers

- You are free to use whatever sound you want for the drums, they just must clearly differ in frequency. Only three sound no matter how you get them.
- Yes, hardware, software, synth samples allowed.

Can you explain what this means? I don't understand.

- It's mean that when you will make your beat you can use only 3 sounds to make your ryhtm section. One sound consists of a low frequency, the second of the middle and third of the high. Basically it's the kick the snare and the hat, but you can use whatever sound you want to make it, the thing is that they must clearly differ in frequency.
- You have to use three different synth sounds, hardware or software no matter.

Damn, still no entries? Might have been overly specific with the rules there but I'm not mad atcha. Also, otbt, is it cool if I use your track for the next Winner's Circle comp at spbattalion.bandcamp? and btw, congrats!

Really? The rules aren't that hard, 'spose this is the first time a few folks here have tried flipping South American &/or Spanish sounds.

Nearly got something finished on the 404+OP1 & I've been out of town for the past 3 days. Should have it posted later tonight.

OTBT: No worries about the samples you provided, there's plenty to use in them. Just takes ears to pick the right parts.

*EDIT* Uploaded this thing: What Happens If You're In Brazil And You Don't Like Soccer? Surely you lot can beat this entry.
