i provided some chops of 2 tracks, they are also with bonus pitch (lo and hi),they come from a cassette i recorded from radio in italy, in 1994. The pitch was worked on the recorder on the picture, no software, they are in .wav format.

https://app.box.com/s/tx8udeaonalvf9k53d0y
https://app.box.com/s/lv5m0079u86plam0t0he

-RULES-
1)external or internal mics are allowed to make drums. If you don't have a mic, use a recorder, a smartphone or whatever you want with your voice.
2)your nickname HAS TO BE someway in the track. Not chopped, it has to be heardeable in its globality at least 2 times. Playing it 2 times before the beginning or after the end of the track is not valid, except in certain cases. For the recording see 1)
3)1 sp only
4)no subsonic effect,no internal synth fx,no looper effect
5)using recorder or software to bounce samples back and forth for a sort of resampling (expecially for the sp202) is allowed

i think that's all
tracks are accepted until june 18th

GOOD LUCK!

Here we go!
Where's my microphone.?!

Questions:
the recorded voice samples can be pitched?
no internal synth fx,no looper effect
Did this mean no fx at all?

I like these rules! Looking forward to making some drums. Also, "heardeable" just may be my new favorite word.

Sample everything

Seems fun!
Listening back to my own first guttural beats and being thankful for not being a dentist.

The correct term would be "audible". I'm assuming English isn't your first language so you get a pass on that hahaha. I hate to be correcting grammar, especially in SP forums but that just sounded so funny to me I had to say something.

Ok, we can use only the samples that you provide, those that we will sample through the mic, and apply some internal fx, right?
And what about pitching voice samples?

yes the samples are there + percussion with voice + your nickname with voice...pitching those vocals samples is allowed with SPs internal pitch fx, you can apply all the fx you want (except the ones i mentioned in the first post)with those samples you will made and with the ones i put online...if the SP808 has real pitch (as the SP202, if i don't remember well) you can use it

2 questions:
Can I use the hum in the noise gen fx (I forget which mfx # on the SX) to make a synth? Or not. I guess if subsonic is not allowed, this should be either, but just in case.

Second question: I use a cheap ass portable tape player with pitch. Can I use it to pitch stuff and I also use the mic on it(it's a voice recorder)? I also like to do tape stop jams for background textures, it rocks. So, can I use it to record my drum sounds?

Thanks.

Paolo Conte rocks btw. Lately, I've been into sampling old easy listening stuff like Ronnie Aldrich and Englebert Humperdinck. There's some crazy grooves sometimes. They always used session players. Demis Roussos rocked too in the 70's, just like Aphrodite's child's album 666. Anyways, too much good much around.

yes you can use it as all the other fx not in the black list ( :) )

you can use the recorder for you "nickname vocals" and the drums/percussion etc
tape stop jams are possible with resampling on the SPs fx, check some tape echo (ops)...pitchshift fx are possible on all the SPs, so i would say that it's enough for pitching, plus the samples are with some extra "bonus pitch variations"...

So you can record percussion through a mic - do they have to be percussion sounds made with your mouth like beatbox style or can I record pots and pans etc?
