I have found several sample packs with dr 660 oneshots, so its possible to work without boss dr

Yea it's pretty easy to listen and figure out the gear they using.
I thought you might have some specifics on the process of the Tommy Wright tapes. He produced some nice sounding 4 track tapes. Very inspiring.
That DJ Zirk video is sick thought, is he planning to release that stuff soon ?

I know this thread is from a while ago but someone said the 606 has note repeat? I've never come across it if it has? Maybe i'm just stupid but could anyone tell me how to do this?

i don't make southern style beats on sps (fl studio for that) but either sub-pad or 606 note repeat for hi-hat rolls.

i guess he made them himself (probably a 808 with effects), but back in the 90s some of the producers couldnt do that cause of the limitations.

I have honestly asked allot of people and tried to replicate it with no success
