I was going to try and put money down on a MPC 2500, but I was never going to play it until I had the full $800 I needed to bring it home. And there wasn't any garuntee that something might have been faulty on it. I decided it'd be better to grab the Zoom and at least have something to compliment my sp505 and Akai S20.

the st 224 is pretty much a 2500. it has a seamless workflow. not quite as streamline as the 2500, but for a fraction of the price, the st 224 is the best sampler in the world. IM0.

anyway, anyone know the voltage for the st 224 memory, will a 303 card work ? I accidently ordered a 303 card and it wont work on the 202.

got a 202 card coming soon though

A sp303 card will work fine as long as its 16mb or less.
The sp202 cards won't work in the 224 or 303.

A ST-224 will take any 4, 8 or 16MB 3.3 volt card. It doesn't really say it in the manual (as far as I glanced) but it was mentioned somewhere (here I think?) what kind of smart media cards it takes. I needed to order some more for my sp505 anyway, so I'll scope a good deal and see if I can get a few for a decent price. I've noticed you don't have to buy from eBay. Other sites pop up that sell them if you use google search.

It's not arrived yet but I've just scored a Monotribe with the Amazing Machines Midi kit fitted to it for only £100. I've been tempted to get one ever since I bought a Monotron.

Most thrift stores get stuff from donation, so if they sold it for $10 bucks, it's probably one of those "We don't know what it's really worth, but let's sell it anyway" deals. I'm sure if more people donated their gear to charity, anybody could pick up a decent synth or drum machine or sampler for dirt cheap. Pawn stores might be a better place to look if you are in the market. Because usually any community has some in the area, and if you check around, you'll be surprised what you can find.

new 404 , jumped on like i run the place, should be interesting to finally have full sequencer resample abilities,

still have the 606 standing by to sample long samples,fx , chop/mutegroup but the function button is burning out, so i will switch the power horse over to 404 where she will handle all strategic operations while the 202 and sample track will administrate and execute covert operations. 404 bounces to the 202 in hifi with batteries. 64 mb card for the 202, almost 1 minute hifi stereo with the card.
