FE6 error after updating to 1.05

Post by charliegreens »

Guys, I have big trouble.

Half an hour ago I wanted to update my SP-404 from 1.04 OS tot 1.05. I used a 1GB Kingston CF card.

So like the manual said, I put the bin files in the root folder of the CF card. After that, I inserted the card in my SP-404 and turned the power on. The SP-404 started loading the OS. When updating the SP-404, it counts down from 100 to 0. The big problem is, the 404 stops around 32 and then I get FE6 on my screen. After that it doesn't continue. I tried going back to 1.04 but I still get the same error.

What should I do??? I'm going nuts! :(

It seems like mad cats have trouble when updating to 1.05. Thats why I never mess with that OS shit unless its really a big improvement. I'm sure someone with a simular experience will help you out.

sorry to say this, but the F0# errors are usually motherboard errors.
You should prolly call roland and check with the warrenty shit.

This is really fucked up, because I got this thing off eBay a few weeks ago and I didn't get a receipt or something like that. :(

that's fucked up, but still...

Call up your local roland dealer ship and ask 'em howmuch it would cost to repair your 404. Usually it's about 50 bucks.

I contacted Roland. They're gonna replace the mainboard probably. Hopefully it won't take to long. I'm glad it something that can be repaired.
