hey guys, I just got an sp202 and a TASCAM Porta 02! been producing tunes for about 5 years, and started really getting into lofi and shit a few months ago. Been making stuff on Ableton as usual, but decided it's about time I up my game, and boy am I glad. The gear has just been bought, and won't get here for another week or so.

I use the 202 to sample mostly everything. Then make the beats in ableton. Dont get too caught up in that whole hardware vs software stuff.
If you work well in ableton, incorporate the 202 into your workflow. Bounce the shit to the 2 track after you arrange in ableton.

hahah thanks man. and don't worry, I'm not one of those hardware vs. software scrubs (lol), I got past that shit years ago. The 202 and tape deck will serve as an addition to my workflow, add to the sound, and allow me to participate in some fun sp-only tapes with my buds.

I won an auction on eBay for $111, which is sweet because it's in pretty great condition and came with a 4 MB card.
