Re: Connecting two sp 404s and a tascam 4 track?
I should clarify...I want to find a way to be able to record back and forth between the two sps but also be able to use an input on one for recording my samples w/ out having to disconnect anything using either my four track or a mixer....Im looking for the simplest way to do all of this....thanks

you might want to look at a small mixer like the behringer xenyx 802, 1202 or 502 so you can have more than one sound source going into one of the 404s. or even two of these small mixers

If ya can't afford a mixer right away you could use splitter cables. Here is my earlier set up with an sp808 and sp606( found a sp404 pic )
I had sampler 2 sampling off my pc while the sampler 1 in turn samples off sampler 2. And then sampler 1 is in turn recorded back into my daw and also plays out to the monitors
Now in my case the sp808 has a mixer built into it and I am able to play both samplers out to my monitors. In your case I'm not sure if the 404 lets you do that. I currently am using a Korg d16 as a mixer /fx processor. So depending on what you want to do. Eventually I will add an audio interface to my set up as just using the pc soundcard I can hear a slight noise in the background.
