Post by iThinkTooMuch »

I am starting to take my 404sx to places and i dont wanna damage it. I have a backpack that isnt that stiff, so what do you guys do to not damage it? Is wrapping it in a towel a good idea? thanks

There's a case that's sold at the container store that fits the sp 303/404 perfectly and it looks like a gun case. It was around $18.

Just go to goodwill, they usually have a bunch of travel packs for real cheap. I picked up a few nice camera bags for under five bucks. The nice thing about camera bags is that they have adjustable velcro padding on the inside so you can get your SP nice and snug.

I stuff my 404SX in my backpack when I hike with it or in my messenger bag when I take it local. I don't worry too much about it. It has be dropped and dinged a few times and keeps on working. I can fix things myself too which adds to my laziness with care. I do like the idea of the case from container store. I have an awesome padded Pelican case for my RS-7000 but no case for SX bc like I said I travel with it a lot and would just be too bulky.

LOoks like your communicating with outerspace . ha thats what I would think if I didnt know what an SP was.

another weird bonkers idea is to bring the SP to the big record stores with a porta turntable. and grab samples from random expensive records and look like your just previewing them ha. not a record collector anymore, but even crappy dollar records have scores on the sometimes, mostly not, so it's almost not worth collecting garbage. and you can usually google a dollar record and see if it's complete trash or maybe possibly has a gold nugget on it. i had 1000 crappy choir and orchestra records. i found 2 or 3 that were wicked awesome, but that then.

I dont want to travel with the 606, it acts funny at shows and after from moving it around, much easier recording the set to mp3 player , use a cdj or whatever for rap sets. for live beats I need to get another 404 and 202.
