Each sample on the sp-404 responds to a specific note number. If your korg does not send that note number message to your 404 then that specific sample won't get played.

make sure they are both on the same MIDI channel

the preset Pattern is getting played because the 404 responds to the Korg's MIDI clock (by pressing play you begin this) and the preset Pattern is the last example. if you trigger Pattern 5 in Bank D, then stop it, next time you hit play on the Korg, Pattern 5/Bank C will trigger

re: triggering samples using the keyboard's keys., check p 41 of the manual to see the midi note to pad allocations

i have my sp 404 hooked up to my Keyboard pa 80, i want to set the Midi on sp 404 to External so when i press the START/STOP button on my keyboard the samples that i made would play at the same time.

i read in the manual to HOLD down the BPM button on sp 404 and then turn on the sampler to chage the midi setting, so i did that but each pad on the sampler is assinged to a key on my keyboard, for example if press A# on my keyboard pad 1 would start playning and so on...

but i want my samples to play when i press the START/STOP button on my keybord, not when play one of the keys on my keyboard.

i also have a YAMAHA SU 700 which has a midi setting that you can set the midi to external and it plays the samples at the same time with my keyboad, but the sp 404 it doesnt...

this is the biggest problem i have with the SP 404
plz somebody help
thanks
