I think it is cool. Awkward at times indeed- but at the heart of it it is about engaging young children in a positive way- children need as much of that as possible. As for Brooklyn-yuppies-etc. whatevs. My fam is from Brooklyn and everything changes over time, sad but true. I just wish there were rent control in a certain percentage of every community to keep it mixed demographics. The homogenization that occurs with poverty or wealthy neighborhoods is disparaging to me. I have watched Venice CA do same thing going from gang infested low income to very wealthy and pushing many people out.
