Beat videos

Post by TheDingo »

What's up once again sp fam.. I've been watching a lot of beatmakers' music videos from on here and would like to ask a question and please don't think this is a 'how do I do this?' thread. I just feel like a beat I made would be cool with a video. Anyways, if I wanted to make a decent quality video what are some options that I could go about making one? Is it like sampling old clips from YouTube and chopping those in windows media player or are there visualizer programs or software designed for making cool videos (ex: dr. strangeloop and flying lotus' zodiac sht) please help me out! 8)
P. S. - sorry for the long post

Just go and try out stuff.. Use moviemaker or iMovie and just gather clips from anywhere.. load them in and start creating a video.

This is like asking: 'yo i'm hearing some really great beats man.. and I want to start making my own cool beat.. something like flylo or gesafelstein etc. anybody got an idea on how to make something like that?!?!'

creating a video is art, like creating a beat is art.

Just do it!

heres a cool idea , get 2 projectors, and then play your clips on 2 projectors. you can cover 1 up to shut one off, you can even dance in front of it ghetto blue screen, then record it with a video camera, and our got some quasi authentic cult old school shit.

For true old skool, point your camera at a live video monitor to get video feedback!

Ya have fun! There are free video editing programs on Mac and PC. Very fun. Generally you will need to mute the audio of the clips and add your track as an audio or music track.
These might give you some inspiration:

I was wanting to mess around with this, make a beat video.
Got a tape release I'm working on and wanted to gain some hype on YouTube. Seems like that's where everybody goes to stumble on new music.
But I think if I do a beat video I'm just gonna go with the album cover and let the beat play.

GodsConnect makes some dope videos.

The best video I've ever seen was Madvillain - Strange Ways. With the clay animation.

When I seen Ill Green's clay gammera pictured with his Grun Reaper Headstones album I was hoping for an animated video with that creature.
