Lately i've been on a kick of working just with super cheap instruments as tone generators. I"ve been really suprised by what you can squeeze out of a casio with a bit of elbow grease.

Here's a deep house track using
Casio SK-1
Casio MT-100
Casio MT-600
and Yamaha pss-460 (my super secret weapon for killer bass sounds...oops let that one out of the bag.)

all instruments cost less than $5, I used reason to sample, filter and arrange.

anyone else doing anything like this?

nice track man!!! i use a yamaha pss-380, casio sk-5 and vl-tone sometimes. 2 weeks ago i started recording little tracks with a simple drum computer and the casio vl-tone. sounds like old video game music. you can listen to it here:

nice one, man- i really like how rich the sounds are despite being really simple
