How on earth did he modulate(?) those damn synths, especially like the part from 0:38 untill 0:44. That part from the song I linked keeps killing me and now I'm damn curious.

I hate that dude for being so damn nasty (in a good way).

it seems a relatively simple tvf+lfo movement plus lot of distortion/phasing...

To be 100%- TVF = time variant filer, right? Is it different to a regular LFO?

Ahh, it makes some more sense now. Gonna do some research on that TVF then. Even though I'm almost sure the Alesis Micron doesn't have it, gaining knowledge is never wrong.

Modulating synths to make sounds morph and stuff is something that always intrests me like in some drum and bass or neurofunk tracks. SENSEI somewhat did something like it in that track so once again, it made me real curious.

get an SH101 - those things make noises like that all day long. its just a case of recording yourself play around and sample the good bits. other old monophonic analogue synths surely will do too but i know for a fact the 101 is amazing at giving out crazy and fat sounds

im more interested how people get those reverb samiyam like drums. where the drums hits dont have the right frequencies to be fat but it still works... i dunno

whatever the "samiyam like" adjective stands for, i think u mean putting a SMALL amount of reverb on a sample then compressing the F out of it. anything about frenquencies can be adjusted with good eq.

Just sounds like he's adjusting the filter cut off and resonance. Could be doing manually or with an lfo
