Pad Transplant
My old SP's pads were worn out. Bad. A couple weeks ago, my new SP's output volume somehow became unbalanced. Really glad that I mentioned it here because Wax Inspector let me know that the pads can be replaced inexpensively. Then I realized I could possibly switch my new SP's pads into my old SP. I asked Wax Inspektor about it. His response, "real easy man.. just lift the screws on the bottom. from there Its selfexplaining. just watch out for the thin wire that connects the 2 boards with each other... no need to lift the screws on the top. good luck!"
I think he overestimated my intelligence. I didn't find it to be "real easy". It was scary. It wasn't too difficult though. It worked out and now my original SP is back in action!

Damn that 404 mask is awesome! With the mic stand you look like a hip hop wizard, all you need now's a big arse beard to weave through the faceplate's button holes.
Re: Pad Transplant
hahaha yes you should totally wear that when you play! maybe put some like tinted goggles in the hole or something as well instead of just having a hole
Samples.

Re: Pad Transplant
Yo Unfolding and Cartesia, nice ideas!
Asha, I was lucky enough to find the leather Targus briefcase at a Salvation Army thrift store for only 5 bucks. Then I went to the hobby store for a square of foam, cut it to fit then lined it with t shirt cotton.
5D, I actually just own two SPs so I switched parts between those.
I am ordering new pads though, thanks to Wax Inspektor with his priceless advice. I emailed Roland and they responded:
"You can order parts directly from our Customer Support department at 323-890-3700 ext 7005. They are available Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30am and 5:00pm
Pacific Standard time. "
New pads are only 20 dollars plus 6.50 for shipping.
If you're in another country, you'd have to email Roland for the phone number.

Seriously nice ideas though. A big arse beard would enhance the mask, although I'm not sure I would weave it. Seems uncomfortable.
And tinted goggles?! Brilliant. For the pic, I just had the faceplate tucked under my hat, so of course it kept falling off. I bought some elastic for it, but tinted goggles would be way better.
and yeah this is a new forum account because yesterday I mistyped my password a few times, then it asked for a CAPTCHA code that isn't there. I emailed the Wizard of Oz but no response yet.
