visualizations while making beats- is it possible?

Hey guys, is there a way to watch visualizations (e.g. winamp) while making beats? would be so dope to see moving graphics live to the sound (others than the ones in head)

also .. You could collect images and try to convey the picture through sound .. I used to do that .. that said .. I like to visualize when making beats and let it flow

thank you for the ideas. i was watching nature documentations while making beats for some time which was cool but having visualizations react to the rhythm of the music (like windows media player or winamp visuals) would be something else. i never came around a media player with a record input. maybe there isn't one...?

If you're looking for software that reacts to incoming audio you need some video dj stuff. Hit up modul8 or even check out quartz composer. Quartz Composer comes with OSX for free, modulat8 costs monies.

I've never used it, but I think it might be able to do what you want...it makes images based on sound or sound based on images from what I understand.

this works. thanks. not as fancy as the winamp visuals but reacts live to the sound. quite pixelated, don't know if i want to see that while making music
