My friend has been doing a little film fest for films that use the toy video camera PXL-2000 from Fisher Price made in the 80s. Super lo-fi and fun. The limits of the medium and the fact I usually wait till the last week or even day of the fest makes for good creative time- letting things go and not over-thinking etc. I have entered the last 5 years and here is the latest and a link to the others as well- hope you dig it!

Niiiice. I love those little cameras, Ive been looking for one at the right price for years, they seemed to go for quite a bit these days on ebay. Ive seen theres a few circuit bend points in the circuit too that might have some nice effects. Saw one of these at a carboot sale for £2, wish I had've bought it now.

Jus going to check out your other videos, thanks.

Thanks man, glad you liked it. My friend Gerry gave me a camera on loan and I bought a little Aiptek digital cam and strap it to the side to record to. There is a guy who is like "the guy" to buy the modified versions from- I could find his info if you need it. Biggest plus is the added RCA output which you can plug into recorders and VCR etc. The Aiptek I got specifically that has RCA analog input capability so it gives me a screen to view and I just drop the files off a SD card right in video editing software. Some folks record to the cassette and dump to VCR them computer etc. but either way you end up needing a way to get an analog video signal into digital at least to post online etc.

There is one on Ebay now for $80 untested and un-modded. If you watch them and use the Ebay app and set a price you can afford you could snipe one eventually. Otherwise you would have to get lucky at a Thrift Store or yard sale I think.
The demand has gone up and so have prices.
You could search all of Craigslist in cities where you know people and set the search as an RSS feed so when matches come up they show up like emails and you don't have to keep searching.
